British Values

British Values at Martongate Primary  School

At Martongate Primary School we want our children to develop into responsible and thoughtful members of their communities. We want them to show respect and tolerance for those who have different faiths and beliefs and want them to be active in local issues and understand that we all have a voice and to know to use it respectfully.

Through our curriculum offer we actively encourage debate and discussions on current issues in Britain and those important to our local communities and school.  We ensure that the children are exposed to a wide range of experiences, and through visitors, encounter differing viewpoints and opinions.  We feel it is important that the children feel listened to, and to enable this each class elects a representative to the School Council. The Council regularly meets with the Headteacher to discuss and raise issues important to all the children in the school.
