Our 'Honeypot' provision supports a small number of our pupils who need additional support with Speech, Language and Communication Needs. All pupils have an EHCP and places are currently allocated through consultation between parents, class teacher and our school SENCO.
Within the provision there is a sensory area, relaxation area and focused teaching areas. Children also have access to an outdoor learning area, which is well resourced.
The 'Honeypot' is an integral part of Martongate Primary School and promotes and inclusive environment where all pupils, families and staff are respected as valued members of our school community.
The support the 'Honeypot' provides focuses on enabling the pupils to learn effectively with greater independence. We aim to increase the pupils' experiences of positive engagement with others that promotes a shared sense of inclusion and participation within the school and the wider community.
All pupils who attend this provision have an individual timetable outlining how the curriculum and interventions are organised. Pupils' academic and holistic development is carefully tracked and celebrated using the Cherry Garden for small steps in learning. Attention Autism sessions are delivered also.
The 'Honeypot' is a flexible provision so all children access some learning and activities in their mainstream classes.
Mrs Straker leads the Honeypot provision at Martongate, working closely alongside class teachers to meet the needs our children.
